Honor Roll
At the end of each grading period an honor roll will be published. There are two honor rolls:
- Principal's Honor Roll — all grades must be A's.
- A-B Honor Roll — all grades must be A's and B's.
Report Cards
Emmanuel Christian Academy operates on a nine-week grading period. Report cards are typically sent home one week after the conclusion of the grading period. These report cards state the academic progress of the student, as well as describe the conduct of that particular student.
The purpose of a reporting system is to give parents an accurate indication of the progress achieved by their children. Each child's ability, attitude, and application are taken into account in the grading system. Report cards are issued each nine weeks for all grades.
The first Thursday evening after report cards have been sent home is reserved for parent-teacher conferences. Any parent who desires to meet with his child's teacher may call the office to schedule an appointment.
To keep elementary parents informed of their child's progress during the grading period, folders are sent home on a weekly basis. Scholarship warnings are issued in all grades every three weeks to students who are earning D's or F's in any subject.
These scholarship warnings also should be signed and returned the next school day.
If an account becomes delinquent, the report card will be held until arrangement for payment has been made with the Business Office.
Unexcused Absences
Absences not listed under "Excused Absences" will be considered unexcused as well as absences in which no written note is received by the Academy office upon the student's return to school. A student will be allowed to make up work missed due to an unexcused absence; however, only half credit will be given for that work, and one point will be deducted from the final average of each class missed.
