Arrival/Departures
Elementary Arrival and Dismissal
Parents bringing their children to school are to drop them off ONLY in the designated area in front of the school office. Upon arrival, elementary children are to go directly to the gym. Parents should not escort their children directly to the classroom. If a meeting with the teacher is desired, a parent may schedule one through the school secretary.
Kindergarten will be dismissed at 11:45 a.m. daily. They should be picked up by the glass doors near the middle of the building near the cafeteria.
All kindergarten and elementary parents picking up their students should form a line in the parking area across from the cafeteria section of the building. Under no circumstances should a parent or student drive through the bus lane located adjacent to the sidewalk.
Selected sixth grade students will serve as Safety Patrol members in the mornings and afternoons. These students will escort younger students to and from their vehicles to a safe area where the students may enter the building.
Grades 1-6 will be dismissed at 3:00 p.m. daily. They should be picked up by the glass doors by the middle section of the building near the cafeteria. Students who have siblings in junior and senior high school may exit through the green doors by the basketball court. Children are to go directly to their parent's car and stay there. The teacher on duty is not responsible for the students whose parents are already on the school grounds.
Parents who are picking up both an elementary and a high school student need to be here at 3:00 p.m. when the elementary students are dismissed. Students who are not picked up promptly after school will return to their classrooms. The teachers will contact the parents or the people on the emergency form. There is no after-school care at ECA. A fine of $10.00 is charged for every fifteen minutes for students not picked up by 3:15 p.m. on normal school days or 12:15 p.m. on noon dismissal days.
Junior and Senior High Arrival and Dismissal
Parents who are picking up junior and senior high students should park at the north end of the building in the parking lot by the basketball court.
Grades 7-12 will be dismissed at 3:15 p.m. daily. These students should be dropped off and picked up at the north end of the building, entering and exiting through the green doors by the basketball court.
Please give us your cooperation in being here to pick up your child at the specified times.
Junior and senior high school students must be out of the main buildings by 3:30 p.m. They are to wait for their parents at the designated areas. If students remain on the school grounds after 3:30 p.m., they will not be in a specifically supervised situation. We do insist on appropriate behavior during those times. Students are to remain on campus in the designated area until their ride arrives. They are not to go back into the building or into the classroom unless they have permission from the Academy office personnel. Students are not to be walking up and down the road to the corner store. Of course, students who remain after school for school functions will be under proper supervision.
