Case goods and upholstery resource Universal Furniture is once again holding a virtual market experience from Nov. 16-17 aimed largely at buyers who were not at the October High Point Market.
While the company said it had 50% of its normal traffic at the Oct.13-21 market, it said it wants to recreate the experience for those who could not attend.
Free and open to members of the trade, the virtual market will give buyers tours of full collections, live showroom walk-throughs and 360-degree virtual showroom tours plus live Q&A sessions with product experts.
“In a year where everyone has been forced to pivot, we worked hard to translate every aspect of the market experience that could be delivered virtually,” said Neil MacKenzie, Universal Furniture director of marketing. “We want everyone to feel like they’ve participated, whether they can make it in person or not.”
This is the second virtual market experience the company has offered, the first in April with the cancellation of the spring market. That company said that event drew thousands of participants – including retailers and designers – during its six-day run.
“Participants appreciated the depth and breadth of information we were able to deliver via email, social media, virtual conference platforms and the website.” MacKenzie said.
On Monday, Nov. 16, there will be a live Q&A via zoom at noon with Shannon Lookabill, director of product development, who will discuss outdoor furniture materials.
On Tuesday Nov. 17, the schedule includes:
- A live Q&A at 11 a.m. via Zoom on Work From Home (WFH) introductions
- A live Q&A via Zoom at noon with Coastal Living discussing consumer research on outdoor living.
Additional information will be available on demand, including a 360 tour of the Coastal Living Outdoor collection, an image gallery and a video tour with the product team.
In addition there will be a 360 tour of the Modern Farmhouse collection with image gallery and video tour with the product team and a video tour with the product team on the Work from Home introductions, as well as video tours of the special order upholstery program including a video on swatching and a video on the Cylindo draping tool.
Videos also will be available for the following collections: Coastal Living Getaway, Miranda Kerr Home, Nina Magon and Modern.
