Treasure Garden names new National Contract Sales Manager

Treasure Garden has added Kim Golson to its team as National Contract Sales Manager.

Focusing on the hospitality sector, Golson will work primarily with Treasure Garden’s hospitality collections, Shademaker and Jardinico, overseeing all sales on a national level.

“Kim is a consummate professional with immense knowledge from years of working in the outdoor category,” said Benjamin Ma, vice president of California-based Treasure Garden. “With more than twenty-four years of working on a management level in the outdoor segment, we are confident that Kim will make an immediate impact on our contract and hospitality business.”

A veteran of the casual furnishings industry, Golson joins Treasure Garden from her position as a national sales manager at NorthCape International in Chicago. Before her time with NorthCape, Golson also worked as national sales manager for Alabama-based outdoor manufacturer Meadowcraft. Golson currently resides in Birmingham, Ala.

A rose by any other name would smell as sweet—but would it search as well?

There is famous quote in Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet that goes, “What’s in a name? That which we call a rose . . . By any other name would smell as sweet.”

It has become a common way to convey that what something is called is much less important than what it actually is. And this is perhaps true, unless you’re shopping on the internet.

With the increase of shopping via e-commerce the last several years, a trend that has dramatically accelerated in the age of COVID-19, what something is called and how well that aligns with how consumers look for it can mean the difference success or failure, between major sales or major closeouts.

This is particularly true in the accent business where products are often designed to offer multiple functions and enable consumers to use them in myriad places throughout the home.

Take for example an entertainment console.
