In their own words
Please describe your visual merchandising scheme.
Vignettes throughout the store showcase how customers can use the items in their own homes. Our main display features a sofa with a rotating selection of pillows, throws, mirrors and wall art, side chairs, bar carts, side and cocktail tables, and accessories.
What is the best retail idea you have ever implemented that helped improve your sales/profits?
In 2018 in response to market demand for personalized products, we started offering in-house monogramming/embroidery. Based on the rousing success of that service, we added foil-press notecards and leather goods in 2019. These services rekindled long-time customers’ interest in the store and have attracted many new customers who had never shopped with us before. Doing the work in-house requires a significant investment in equipment and training but we’re finding it well worth the risk and are looking to expand our offerings.
